Live With or Without

2014 is here!! Is it going to be Just Another Year or OMG, it's 2014!? I'm about to get started with mine to find out. I get inspired in tones of ways than I can imagine. By people, by posts on Facebook wall, by blogs, by talking to living ones, by reading out of internet and what not. I seek for ways to get inspired & I can't seem to get that ONE way in which I can get inspired, motivated to live this dream I am dreaming. One such way I found recently by a blog called zenhabits.
( For those who don't know what it's all about::
It's about finding simplicity in our day to day life, about finding happiness in every simple thing we do, its about things we already know of & have ignored or blinded by them)

In 2013, I was part of some amazing events in Bangalore like Sunday Soul Sante, India Depressed Cake Shop, 10 day baking workshop & more. I explored a lot - in food section. I was baking, cooking delicious North Indian Curries, Italian & I found a lot of good places around Bangalore to eat.
For me, cooking does the trick. Whether angry, upset or stubborn..I start cooking & things start to get better.

Last year, I tried the "Jar of Happiness " by Elizabeth Gilbert. It was my "Happiness Jar Project"!
I wrote that One thing that made me happiest every single day & I put it in a jar ( Well, I could not get a jar, so it went from bag to basket to mini bucket - basically anything that could hold those happiness). I want to say it was successful project but it was not a major one. There were days when something amazing happened with me that was worth writing down & still I didn't and I don't even know the reason.. And then there were days when nothing made me happy. I wasn't on a look out for anything in particular but days went by just like that. So, the happiness jar is only half full.

But this year, 2014 - I have another plan.  Inspired by one of zenhabits blog. A plan that's about to bring together 12 amazing simple things in life ( Do's and Don’ts ) and put together a little something called "Living With Or Without ". I'm going to modify it.  Each month I am going to live With or Without one thing I usually do. It can be a new thing also. This is for my personal happiness & it's a test against what I can live with or without for at least 30 days.

In my last few years, I have started lot of things that I loved and never finished it. Reading novel and not finishing it because of lot of reasons - no time, book wasn't interesting enough, I thought it was time I start reading something else, I got bored, I found something else more interesting ... blah blah blah. I have found reasons that even I know are not aren't good enough. What is it that makes one not learn or what causes that distraction? And reading novel isn't just one of it.

I'm a plain Jane, I have a  9 - 5 job. I (try to) learn the tricks & methods of how to do programming daily, I want to be able to do given task independently and that is not going happen in a day! It's a practice that should be done over period of few days, weeks, months, and years to reach that level when I can be confident in what I do. But distractions at work can be plenty. Internet, Co-workers , Office politics, Family & friends. Work - life balancing is one of the most difficult tasks in this time. It's all correlated . The work I do in office and the things I do in my daily life.

There are studies that show that people who get up early in morning or meditate early morning have a better day at work than people who don't meditate. I may be wrong here, but I am going to believe what I want to believe. So, yes.. I am going to start changing things around me. And it's not just for job improvement. It's a reminder that you are never too late to try anything new.

There are million things I want to do before I turn 25 and this is definitely one of them. There is a bucket list too. That's going take another post. But over span of next 12 months, I will Live With or Without one thing per each month, that I believe is going to change the way I think. It's about patience, it's about holding on to what you believe, about what you think you can achieve.

Things I believe I can Live With or Without

(At the end of each month, I am going to post how that entire month had been for me Living With or Without that One thing. It might b a flop at first month or I might over do it for next one but it's all about Never give up, eh?? )

  January : Month Without Biting

Hold on before you start thinking " Whaaaaaaaat"! I have a worst habit of biting nails since I-Don't--Remember and I want to change that. I know I am not the only one in this universe with this disgusting habit but I'll be the one to admit & change. Since it's my first attempt at trying something new, I decided I will start with something simple.

I decided not to put up the entire list of things in single post because I will be doing that at the end of every month. That way I will have enough time to decide on things I want to live with or without.

Here’s what I have done so far
